IPAC’S PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS PROGRAM

SUPPORTING INDIGENOUS YOUTH

If you are an Indigenous youth aged 17 – 29, you can apply to our 2022 Pathways to Success program, aimed to match Indigenous youth with internship and work opportunities, launching in Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg.
 
Whether you are in school, just graduating, or already started your career you can benefit from these opportunities! IPAC provides additional support alongside the work as well, in forms of additional financial support, resume and interview skills, mentorship and more. The goal is to meet you where you are at, and help build your skills to be successful in these roles.
 

Pathways to Success will leverage IPAC’s current relationships with corporate Canada and industry professionals to create new opportunities for internships, and work experiences for Indigenous youth.

To Apply:

  1. If you are not yet a member of IPAC, join the free membership of Indigenous Professionals through this form.
  2. Once you are a member, please fill out the Youth Employment form.
  3. Your Coordinator in your city will connect with you throughout the program and the hiring process.

Please note that all these steps must be completed to be accepted into this program!

FAQ

Pathways to Success will leverage IPAC’s current relationships with corporate Canada and industry professionals to create new opportunities for internships, and work experiences for Indigenous youth.

Once applications are received, Pathways Coordinators will endeavor to match participants with employers based on desired field of work, employer requests and location.

As with any internship and summer work position, the employer is asked to mentor, and educate participants about role expectations. Additionally, Pathways to Success also provides the employers with a contact person and direct accessible participant outreach support Ambassadors, as well as full financial support for participant wages. Employers are expected to participate in hiring activities and events, including the Pathways to Success Youth Summit.

17-29 year old Indigenous youth

There are up to 10 paid opportunities in each region (Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto) annually, though we endeavor to provide additional assistance (i.e. provide connections for additional candidates and employers) to as many candidates as we are able. We are also able to focus beyond the aforementioned cities if remote work is a possibility.

These are 4 month placements, which can start at any time.
