As part of The Indigenous Professional Association of Canada’s (IPAC) founding pillars, Recognizing Excellence includes sharing success stories from Indigenous professionals and students across Canada. Role models are an important aspect in our community. At IPAC, we showcase amazing Indigenous professionals through our Recognizing Excellence program.
FEATURED MEMBERS
Caitlin Abraham
Caitlin Abraham is the Communications Manager for Sasuchan Development Corporation. She is a proud member of Takla Nation, located in Northern BC and she sits with the Frog Clan (Jilh Tse Yu). She is of mixed ancestry – Sustudene and Ukrainian to name a few.
John Budarick
John Budarick is a proud Métis Citizen, a paramedic for the City of Toronto, and the owner of JobReadyCPR. He grew up in Port Severn, which is in his traditional harvesting territory of Georgian Bay.
ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA
We are proud to be recognizing your work and sharing it with hundreds of members across Canada. Provided the candidate meets the following criteria, kindly email operations@aboriginalprofessionals.org with your nomination and will we provide you with a questionnaire for the nominee to complete. Send the completed form accompanied with a headshot and social media handles (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) to director@aboriginalprofessionals.org.
Nominations for Recognizing Excellence are open year-round.
Recognizing Excellence is open to all Indigenous peoples (First Nations Status and Non-Status, Métis or Inuit) currently residing in Canada. Other criteria include:
- nominees must be existing members of IPAC;
- self-identifies as an Indigenous professional;
- demonstrates outstanding leadership within the Indigenous community in Canada;
- Employed or self-employed, full-time or part-time students, and retired professionals are eligible
